TERRAIN architects

TERRAIN architects were established in 2011, in Tokyo, and are currently based inTokyo, Japan; and Kampala, Uganda. TERRAIN architects produces indigenous design solutions derived from our research into the specifics of each project, and into the availability of local materials and skills. TERRAIN architects believes its role is to explain to the users and their communities what is possible – how they may best utilize the potential of their ‘terrain’. For us, the term ’Terrain’ means a unity of the earth, the climate, the people, the time and the architecture.
