Jasper Brown Architects is based in Brisbane, Australia. Our studio is now based in the inner city suburb of West End, having recently relocated from the Metro Arts building in the City centre. The majority of our work is in the residential, multi-residential, retail and small commercial sectors. We also undertake design research for larger scale public buildings and urban spaces by carrying out our own speculative projects and participating in architectural competitions. Our goal is to create innovative and sustainable contemporary architecture for our clients, which transcends their expectations and becomes an enduring delight to occupy. For each project we prefer to collaborate with our clients from inception to completion, overseeing operations on site to ensure that our buildings are constructed in accordance with both the agreed design intent and level of detail.

James Tapscott, artist and designer. My work explores the link between subjective and objective reality, and the effect our perception has on our understanding of the world around us. By using simple materials, and light I seek to create a balance between a ritualistic artistic process and natural phenomena. The installations are temporary and site-determined, a collaboration between myself and the location, and function as a visual conduit between the observer and the environment. The forms I create are simple, elegant – without the baggage of language, enabling the viewer to experience in a state of nameless non-objectification, if only for the briefest of moments. This primal interaction empowers one to transcend language and embrace the potential to remove or ignore perceived boundaries between self and subject… To see a little more today than they did yesterday.
