Mateo Arquitectura is an architectural office led by Josep Lluís Mateo. It is globally active and tries to connect intelligence and artistic ambition with pragmatism and objectivity. Josep Lluís Mateo Architect ETSAB (Barcelona High Technical Architectural School). PHD (with honors) at the UPC (Polytechnic University of Catalonia). Professor of Architecture and Design at the ETH-Zürich (Swiss Federal institute of Technology) since 2002. Guest Professor at the Harvard GSD (Graduate School of Design) 2015. Member of l’Ordre des Architectes de Paris, Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA) in Zürich and the Catalan Professional Architectural Association (COAC) in Barcelona. Author (selection) of “Bauen und Denken” (2002), “Textos Instrumentales” (2007) and director of a collective research published as “Middle East: Contemporary Architectural Conditions” (2012).

The professional work of mukaarquitectura has been selected by the Ministry of Housing for the JAE Young Architects in Spain Exposition, highlighting the most recently distinctions as Finalist of 2016 Building of the Year Awards by Archdaily in Spain and Latin America, Honorable Mention in the competition LOUNGE COAM, Finalist in the International Design & Architecture Award 2015, Finalist in FAD Ciudad y Paisaje 2014 Awards, semifinalist in the International Lamp Lighting Design Award 2013, Finalist in the International housing competition “This is tomorrow”, and second prize in Europan 11 Switzerland. It has developed projects for the Administration and Private Developers.

Marta Dom¨¨nech is an architect, lecturer and PhD candidate in the Architectural Design Department at the School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB, UPC). She was graduated as an architect in ETSAB 2008 and have also studied at the Technical University of Berlin. She hold a Master of Advanced Architectural Design from the School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM, UPM) and an Advanced Master in Theory and History of Architecture from the ETSAB.
