DECA Architecture is an architectural team founded in 2001 by Carlos Loperena (Mexico, 1970) and Alexandros Vaitsos (Peru, 1971). Loperena and Vaitsos met during their postgraduate studies at UC Berkeley. Before they met, Loperena studied industrial design at the University of Kansas (B.F.A., 1995, honors) and Vaitsos studied Visual and Environmental Studies at Harvard University (B.A., 1995).
