Koen Pauwels and Wim Van der Vurst founded their office, i.s.m.architecten, in 2010 and previously worked together on projects for RAUW Architects, Monarch / Smar, FLC Extended and Bataille ibens & Design. They share a view that architecture should not be neutral, but must take a clear position. She should move, surprise and be beautiful. In recent years they designed known catering businesses in Antwerp but also a range of offices as well as residential constructions and renovations. i.s.m.architecten strongly believes in the indivisibility of architecture and its interior space. Based on experience gained in their many years of collaboration with renowned interior office Bataille & ibens, it’s a belief they continue to pursue in their own practice.

Since the company was founded, the BuroLandschap team has designed and created a considerable number of projects, a wealth of experience that has led to our current vision of ‘the essence of space’: SIMPLICITY – NATURE – USE – CULTURE. When implementing this vision, BuroLandschap always starts by looking at the elements that are already present in the natural environment. The combination of private spaces, which are a source of local knowledge, and public spaces, with their urban, cultural context, is something Pieter continues to find enriching. ‘Our vision of the private garden, for instance, is to use the natural palette that is available and revive it. And, we always strive to create a garden that is totally organic and fits in beautifully with both the natural surroundings and the individual.’

evr-architecten is a design team for sustainable architecture, urban planning and research. The office is located in Ghent (BE and is active in both the private and public sector. The office is led by partners Manu Heytens, Bart Verstappen and Niels Baeck. Founding partners are Luc Eeckhout, Jan Van Den Broeke and Luc Reuse. evr-architecten has a long lasting tradition in Belgian architecture and employs 30 architects, eng.-architects, urbanists and interior designers. evr-architecten are pioneers in low-energy and integrated sustainable architecture with a broad environmental awareness and involvement as source of inspiration. evr-Architecten are also at the basis of various sustainability indicators (objectifying methods and design tools) that are presently used in Belgium and focuses on circular design and construction.
