Bundschuh Architekten is an international architecture and design firm based in Berlin. “All Life is problem-solving”― Karl Popper’s famous dictum provides insight not only into our method of approaching architecture, but also into the underlying aim that drives our practice. We understand ourselves as problem solvers, unhindered by preconceived notions of form, aesthetics, or the necessities of historic contextualism.

Architects Simona Malvezzi, Wilfried Kuehn and Johannes Kuehn founded Kuehn Malvezzi in Berlin in 2001. Public spaces, museums and exhibitions are the main focus of their work as architects, designers and curators. They realized the architectural design for Documenta 11, the Friedrich Christian Flick Collection in the Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum for Contemporary Art in Berlin, as well as the Julia Stoschek Collection in Dusseldorf, which was nominated for the international Mies van der Rohe Award. The firm has designed the reorganization of a number of contemporary and historical art collections, attending to sensitive preservation issues for listed buildings, such as the Museum Belvedere in Vienna, the Liebieghaus in Frankfurt, the Museum Berggruen and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Berlin, as well as the Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum in Brunswick.

We are an international office located in M¨¹nster, Leipzig, Taichung and Taipei. For us, the goal of any work is to plan and implement precisely planned objects with sophisticated aesthetics and intelligent designs. The dialogue with our client and within the team, the analysis of the places and the tasks, in connection with intensive research determine our work and design processes. This way of working leads to independent and self-evident solutions with a high degree of identity and sensuality even for complex construction tasks. Our clients should be able to identify with the jointly developed buildings and outdoor facilities and be able to view them permanently with pride and joy. The careful planning and implementation in detail as well as the professional control of the processes is part of our routine
